Nominations for BIANYS Board of Directors

Call for Nominations for BIANYS Board of Directors
Nominations close May 21, 2023

The BIANYS Board Nominations Committee would appreciate your recommendations for candidates for the BIANYS Board of Directors 2023 election to take place at our Annual Meeting on June 9th in Binghamton. Any Member may nominate candidates for director, subject to review and approval by the Nominating Committee. Each director shall be at least eighteen years of age. Directors shall be elected by the Members from the slate presented at the Annual Meeting of the Members by the Nominating Committee.

BIANYS board members work together to advance business incubation, acceleration, and mentorship in New York State by tackling difficult issues and problems, exploring traditional and nontraditional ways to address them, and challenging each other in a collaborative spirit. The Nominating Committee seeks candidates who will bring wisdom, effectiveness, candor, and creative thinking to the board. In choosing among nominees to develop the election slate, the Nominations Committee considers candidates’ backgrounds and experiences in six areas:

1. Contributions to business incubation and the innovation ecosystem;
2. Strategic planning experience;
3. Thought leadership;
4. Operational leadership;
5. Experience assessing and administering finances;
6. Contributions to BIANYS activities.

In the Nomination Statement on the submission form, please comment directly and specifically on these six dimensions of the nominee’s qualifications for board membership (or your own, in the case of self-nominations), in addition to whatever other attributes you believe the Nominations Committee should consider.
The following FAQs describe what it means to be a member of the BIANYS Board:
